Baby Prams Strollers

Most of us have no problems with the concept of baby prams. Strollers is simply another term for pushchair.

The phrase 'baby pushchair' is really perfectly good. It describes exactly what the product is and does. It's a chair that you push. Why do we need to reinvent things and give them names which don't tell us as much?

Strollers. Baby strollers. It isn't even clear from this that we're in the territory of baby prams. Strollers, unless you know what it means in this context, tells us nothing.

But like it or not, baby prams, strollers, pushchairs are all used interchangably now even though they are not all the same. A pram remains a pram and a pushchair is still a pushchair. But really, there's no reason why stroller should refer to a baby pram any more than a baby pushchair. It's just that it doesn't.
